A Kitchen Designed for Modern Living
Boronia Kitchen Transformation
When we first arrived at this Boronia home, the kitchen had seen better days. It was cramped, worn out, and in need of a complete overhaul. But we could see the potential and with a full demolition and a fresh design, we brought it to life with a modern, functional layout tailored to our client’s needs.

The Vision
Maximising space and usability was key for this project. We opted for a large L-shaped layout to create more bench space while seamlessly integrating a new dishwasher, oven, and induction cooktop. The existing window had to go to make way for the new benchtop, so we custom-built a highlight window on-site, allowing natural light to pour in without compromising design.

The Build
This kitchen needed more than just a facelift, it required precision. The old cedar wall studs were bowed and uneven, so we took the time to straighten them, ensuring a flawless fit for the new cabinetry. The result? A kitchen that’s both structurally sound and visually stunning.

The Details
Storage and lighting were key to this transformation. We installed overhead cupboards for extra storage and under-cabinet lighting to enhance the glossy textured backsplash tiles. An open-shelving end cabinet adds a stylish touch, perfect for recipe books or indoor plants. The dark laminate benchtop contrasts beautifully with the light cabinetry, offering a sleek and cost-effective alternative to stone.

The original kitchen was cramped, outdated, and lacked storage. It was clear from the start that a full redesign was needed.

The demolition phase was in full swing. Old cabinets, benchtops, and plaster came out, revealing the structure underneath.

We removed the existing window to create space for the new benchtop, then custom-built a highlight window on-site. This allowed more natural light to flood the room while maintaining privacy.

With the electrical and plumbing rough-in complete, we could see the new layout coming to life. Everything was positioned for maximum functionality.

Walls were freshly plastered, and the new cabinetry started going in. The benchtop installation followed, bringing warmth and contrast to the space.

The transformation was finally complete. Overhead cabinets provided extra storage, under-cabinet lighting enhanced the backsplash, and the sleek new appliances seamlessly integrated into the design. The once-cramped space was now a beautiful, modern kitchen built for both cooking and entertaining.
